Hubby had his big exam in DC this last Wednesday. It's why he was sent home early from deployment. He rocked it (as expected). The little boys and I took the train down and had a mini vacation. We got in late Tuesday night - like 11:45 pm and had to be at the train station by 7 am on Thursday. It was fun though. A little family time is good for everyone.

It's so rare that we're able to get a picture of all 4 of us. I treasure each one of them - even if Monkey is less than impressed with the most famous house in America.

Since I haven't done this in a while, this is actually my favorites of them for the last month or so.

Favorite of The Bear: This picture just melts my heart. He's going to be a heart breaker.


Favorite of The Monkey: We were outside playing in the yard. He was so fascinated with the empty bucket.

Favorite of The Bear: He's currently obsessed with "hoops". Probably because it's something he can do with Daddy. We're not calling the NBA yet though. His current skills involve running around with the ball and then throwing it in the air. He does look pretty cute doing it though. Dream big, little Bear.

Favorite of The Monkey: He loves his Daddy. And, Daddy loves him.

Favorite of The Bear: He found his Mickey Mouse ears from when we went to Disney World last August. Bear felt the need to wear them all day. And, he wanted at least 3,874 pictures of him taken in said ears.

Favorite of The Monkey: He's just so freaking happy. I can't believe how lucky we are to have such a good baby.

Favorite of them: I know this is cheating the system, but I am so very glad to get a good picture of both of them.

Favorite of The Bear: He's discovered that my computer has a camera on it. He loves to lay down next to me and say "cheese". We don't end up with a ton of fantastic pictures, but we do have fun being silly together.

Favorite of The Monkey: It amazes me at what a happy and mellow little boy he is. He's growing up so fast though. He's about 2 months ahead of when The Bear hit all his milestones. I know you aren't supposed to compare children, but I am constantly shocked with how fast he's doing things. Yes, my child is a genius :-)

Spring makes me take lots of pictures. I guess having two adorable (at least I think) little boys helps in the picture taking department.

Favorite of The Bear: I make The Monkey's solid food. Well, I make his milk too, but that's a whole different type of picture. The Bear is big into "my turn" and "helping" me. The 2s are lovely. He was pretty adorable helping me puree the sweet potatoes. We have a learning tower that he's standing on. He had to have his apron on, because I had mine on.

Favorite of The Monkey: He can sit up! I can't believe my little boy can sit up already. I know you're not supposed to compare kids, but I keep thinking that The Monkey is doing this way before The Bear did. The Monkey can go about 4-5 minutes sitting without toppling over. We had a mini photo session Thursday to capture his new skill. I love his "yeah, this is no big deal, mom" expression.

And, post topple I got this picture. It's such a classic baby shot. I changed the colors to give it an old fashioned vibe. I just want to give him a big kiss!

So I finally uploaded all the pictures I've taken the last two weeks. It might not seem like a lot to a normal person, but I take a lot of pictures. Like a lot a lot. Here are my favorites from the week.

Favorite of The Bear: The Bear loves his bubbles. I might have said "If you want bubbles, you have to _____" three thousand times already this spring. My mom is convinced he's advanced that he can blow bubbles. I think she just wants an advanced grandson. He does look pretty adorable.

Favorite of The Monkey: I am constantly amazed at how mellow of a kid he is. He's such a good little brother. He's content to sit and watch The Bear. He is scooting about though, and I know it won't be long until he's running around. He was so tired, but he didn't cry at all while he sat in his car seat.

Favorite of The Bear: I've started giving him water play time in the bathroom sink. I really ought to fill a bucket and put in on the floor for him. Until then, I get to watch these little piggies.


Favorite of The Monkey: I am shocked at how fast he's growing up. He's loving his exersaucer. He's playing with the toys and actually touching the bottom (on the lowest setting).

Favorite of The Bear: I have a whole set of funny faces from The Bear. He was in such a goofy mood. I have no idea what's gotten in to him lately, but I'm glad it's spring and he can burn some of that energy at the park.

Favorite of The Monkey: The Monkey is the most mellow kid I have ever met. His smiles light up my world. You just look at him and he smiles. If you happen to talk to him, he busts out laughing.

Favorite of The Bear: Since he's turned 2, the majority of my pictures of The Bear are of his back. He's not a huge fan of the camera. When I was taking The Monkey's picture this morning, he said "me!". I turned around and saw this big smile.

Favorite of The Monkey: He loves bath time. He doesn't get one that often; seriously, he doesn't get that dirty. He thinks it's so fun to sit in his tub and watch himself.

With all the rainy days we've been having, it's made for some cranky kiddos. I decided we needed a goofy photo shoot. The bathroom mirror, my old camera and lots of funny faces. I couldn't pick one favorite, so here's a collage of us being us.

This has been one crazy, emotional week. My camera and I trucked along though. It's the little things that can make life seem stable.

Favorite of The Bear: Last weekend, we went to the Children's Museum. If you're ever in Boston and have kiddos, you need to go. We were able to meet one of The Bear's favorite characters - Curious George. He was in awe of him :-)

Favorite of The Monkey: He's such a smiley baby now. I have tons of him with the biggest grins that light up his whole face. We had a mini photo shoot on the couch on Wednesday. He was having so much fun "sitting" like a big boy. There are a bunch of him grinning, but this one took my breath away. He's not a baby anymore. I can not believe how mature he looks. You can see the little boy in him now.

Favorite of The Bear: We had a snow storm this week. It wasn't quite the big schabang predicted, but we had snow. It was the first time this year the timing worked out where The Bear was able to play in the snow. It was in the pre-nap snow which was perfect. He's not a fan of walking on grass (and apparently walking on grass even when it's covered in snow) so we built his first snow man in the driveway. Not anything big or fancy, but he loved it.

Favorite of The Monkey: Hubby actually took this of him the other day. It was with my fancy schmancy camera, and I was impressed at how well he did. I love how he blurred the background. How can you not love a face like this?

I have no concept of time anymore. Is it really Friday?

Favorite of The Bear: He loves art time. I've been trying to set time aside at least 3 times a week for him to do some sort of art. He likes painting with his paint brush. He's way too OCD to do that whole finger painting thing. Please excuse the lack of shirt. He's 2 and gets paint everywhere.

Favorite of The Monkey: I love that he's starting to be a happy baby. He was so very serious the first weeks. He's still very subdued, but he has a smile that just lights up his whole face. I love that his eyes get all squinty when he smiles like mine do. The boys are spitting images of Hubby, so it's nice to see they get something from me.

Since I'm taking a million and two pictures with Project365 and I majorly stink at uploading them every week, I decided to start favorite photo friday. I'm taking all the pictures, but this is just easier for right now. Here are my favorites from the last week.

Favorite of The Bear: He's a little ham. He hands me my camera and says "cheese". He can completely melt my heart.

Favorite of The Monkey: He's such a serious kid. It's hard to capture his smiles with the camera. It makes me so excited to get his goofy side.
